Our approach

Centra College offers a 17-month Practical Nursing (PN) certificate program. The PN program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing (VBON).

Centra College Practical Nursing Program holds continuing accreditation from the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA), located at 2600 Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20037. Phone: 202.909.2487

During the program, a wide variety of clinical experiences are provided at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital and other local community locations. Successful completion of the program qualifies a student to take the National Council Licensing Exam-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN).

Licensed Practical Nurses may have employment opportunities in the following areas:

Emergency Medicine

Women’s Health

Surgical Services

ATI TEAS Entrance Exam

The TEAS test is required for all PN applicants. Test scores must be submitted on or before the application deadline.
