About Me
Dr. Sesha Kotapati, a seasoned psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist, completed his residency at New York Medical College. He later served as an assistant professor at Texas Tech University in Midland, Texas where he taught psychiatry and provided patient care. Board-certified in both psychiatry and addiction medicine, Dr. Kotapati is an Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) Specialist and serves as the medical director of Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital's psychiatric unit. He also sees patients at Centra’s Piedmont Psychiatric Center and is a member of Centra's system-wide strategy committee. Beyond clinical work, he serves as the associate editor for the Journal of Medical Case Reports where he oversees the peer review process and acts as an ambassador for the journal. Additionally, he is the secretary of the Virginia Society of Addiction Medicine Board (VaSAM). Locally, he mentors medical students at Liberty University and serves as a director for the Lynchburg Academy of Medicine. Dr. Kotapati has been married to his wife, Prasanna, for 10 years and they have two sons.
