The RTS Bereavement program dedicates this special time to the memory of babies who have died in pregnancy or infancy. It is for anyone who has been touched by the loss of a baby. It will be an outdoor only event at the Resolve Through Sharing Memorial Garden on Oak Lane.
The brief remembrance ceremony will start at 10:00 am followed by a marker planting in the garden and a collective walk around Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital. No registration is required but RSVP is strongly encouraged.
Please RSVP by October 7, 2023.
The 35th Annual Walk to Remember, honoring the lives of babies lost to pregnancy and infant loss, will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, October 14, 2023, regardless of the anticipated rain as we pivot the event to inside Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital on the 3rd floor Craddock Auditorium at 10 am. This symbolic gesture reflects the unpredictability of the grief journey that bereaved parents and families navigate, emphasizing that, much like the rain, life’s unforeseen challenges do not dampen the memories of the precious lives we gather to commemorate.
The best parking will be in the parking deck and to arrive through the Vassar Street entrance, and the Oak Lane entrance will also be open. Signs and volunteers will be able available to help navigate the building. We hope to see you and your support system.
