CRCR, The Center for Restorative Care and Rehabilitation (CRCR), is a long term acute care hospital that provides clinical services to those patients who require an extended stay in an acute care setting. The hospital is located on the fifth floor of Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital's campus.
CRCR specializes in the care of patients with complex extended medical needs. Patients are referred to the CRCR for continuation of acute medical care because the severity and complexity of their medical condition prevents them from being discharged home or transferred to a rehab unit or skilled nursing facility. An individualized care plan is designed for each patient by a physician-led team.
The treatment team relies on the expertise of multiple care givers to design an individualized care plan for each patient. The team, led by a hospital based physician, includes nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, speech therapists, dietitian, case manager and social services staff. All members of the team are focused on working with the patient and their family to develop a plan of care that will maximize the patients’ recovery. The treatment objective is stabilization, treatment, rehab and recovery to optimum functional ability.
