We know that a diagnosis of breast cancer can be devastating and difficult for any woman  and her family.  We are here to support you by providing guidelines and knowledge as you navigate through your breast cancer treatment.

The Program

The Oncology Breast Navigation program was developed to assist patients with the many challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. The program provides its newly diagnosed
breast cancer patients with the latest in treatment options and recommendations through
its multidisciplinary breast cancer team.

This team of specialists is made up of radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists,
radiation oncologists, surgeons, and Oncology Breast Navigation nurses.  The breast cancer
team meets weekly to evaluate and discuss its patients.  They review mammograms, breast MRI's, and pathology reports in order to make recommendations for further treatments.

The Oncology Breast Navigators

It is often difficult to understand the specific care and treatment options at a time
when you may be feeling overwhelmed.  Our Oncology Breast Navigators, both registered
nurses, are a primary resource for breast cancer patients and the people who care for them.

The Oncology Breast Navigators will help you and your family overcome hurdles you may
encounter during diagnosis and treatment by:

  •  Helping you understand the nature of your
     specific diagnosis and treatment plans.
  •  Making educational materials available to
     you and/or your caregivers.
  •  Answering questions throughout the treatment
     journey.
  •  Ensuring that your case has a multidisciplinary,
     team-based approach to your care.
  •  Providing encouragement and support for the
     physical, spiritual, and psychological needs
     during and after your illness.
  •  Assisting in locating additional community
     information and resources.
