A certified public accountant, Amy G. Ray is director of business services for Brown, Edwards & Co. in Lynchburg. She co-owns McFeely's Square Drive Screws with her husband Jim.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and a former president of the Central Virginia Chapter, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

She was the first woman named chairman of the board of directors of the Greater Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce, and was the 2000 recipient of the F.M. "Dink" Cloyd Award for service to the Chamber of Commerce.

She currently serves on the board of the Lynchburg Community Trust, Central Virginia Industries, Interfaith Outreach and Central Virginia Community College's Educational Foundation. She is assistant treasurer of Peakland Baptist Church. She also has served on the Junior Achievement Board, the Lynchburg College School of Business Board of Advisors and as a docent at Poplar Forest.
