Dr. Augustus A. Petticolas Jr. is a Lynchburg dentist and community leader.

Dr. Petticolas has been instrumental in the development of The Free Clinic. He has volunteered his time to treat patients, served as its president and been a member of the board of directors. He also serves as president of the Churches for Urban Ministry (CUM) and is a member of St. James CME Church.

He has been recognized for his community service, and is the recipient of the Humanitarian Award from The National Conference of Christians and Jews.

He is a member and past president of the Lynchburg Dental Society and is a member of the Piedmont Dental Society, the American Dental Association and the National Dental Association. He was inducted into the International College of Dentists in 1998.

Dr. Petticolas graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School.
