A Lynchburg pulmonologist, Albert M. Baker, M.D., is medical director for pulmonary rehabilitation and nutrition support at Centra Health. He serves on the Quality Council as well as the medical informatics, critical care, nutrition support, respiratory care, infection control and emergency room/trauma committees.
Dr. Baker came to Lynchburg in 1995 as a partner in Lynchburg Pulmonary Associates. He has extensive experience in the field of pneumonia. He also has experience in clinical research in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and other aspects of pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Dr. Baker is board certified in critical care medicine, pulmonary diseases and internal medicine. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Baker received his bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia and a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
